This wonderful 2-bedroom bungalow at 800-ft altitude is set amid the rolling hills of Rio Claro
with sweeping views over the city and an impressive mountainous background.
The bungalow has been completely remodeled in 2019.
The original construction was built about 25 years ago by a German engineer.
Over the years we’ve had a few shakes and tremors, but the concrete block is solid, and this construction has no signs of any faults.

There is another large plateau at a higher elevation of the property with a breathtaking panorama.
This picturesque piece of charm could be a perfect spot for a second home, a guest house or even the main villa.
And while this special plateau has an own access entry from the public street, there is also an unpaved road throughout the property,
which provides access to any section of this 22-acre paradise.
It’s a perfect and safe location as a quick jaunt brings you to the scenic beaches of the “Golfo Dulce” Bay
or the famous coastal town of Golfito with its all-new village marina.
But you do not have to go that far at all: everything you would want is merely minutes away,
at the full-service city of Rio Claro: doctors; pharmacies; a hospital with internationally-trained physicians;
schools; an university; large supermarkets; major box stores; public transportation; bars; restaurants;
hotels as well as a plethora of local Tico-like stores… just whatever you need.
In fact, the property is close enough to run down in about 15-20 minutes.
All the other luxuries - the beauty of nature and relaxation, fast internet access if you work remote from home -
you’ll find those in the comfort of your own property.
What more does a person dream of? Air conditioning is available throughout the house.
But - if at all - you might use it only during dry season at noontime,
as this is usually the time of the day when you will relax in the shade of one of your huge trees and
enjoy the fantastic breezes with a good book and a cold drink anyways.

Life is good here, it’s a great place to shift gears.
Many mature fruit trees and veggie plants provide you with delicious nature gifts.
How about picking your own bananas, coconuts, mangos, avocados, papayas and many more for breakfast or a snack in between?
On top, this property has plenty of meadows and plateaus for some new plantings,
which will grow quickly and would add to this diverse ecosystem.
Just make your own choice - for another veggie or fruit garden, or even a larger orchard…?
Why not starting a small plantation?
Or perhaps a pool for your own pleasure…? This large property has lots of potential.

Speaking of water, one of the most valuable resources of the future.
The property’s spring at a higher elevation delivers healthy and fresh, non-chloride water year-round.
A potential pool could be of a natural design, with water running 24/7.
A perfect location with beautiful vistas is set slightly below the house.
Using city water is an option, of course.
But you will opt against this after you have tasted this delicious and clean gift of nature provided by your own spring.
You will get the idea after the first sip.
The house water system, consisting of some easy to maintain elements to provide your own water to the house, has just been upgraded.

Pastures for horses, paddocks and a basic stable are available.
Two horses (“fully equipped”) are just waiting for you. Perhaps thoughts of owning your own horse enters your mind now?
The country road alongside the property between Rio Claro and San Vito continues past the two property entrances up to more than 3,000 ft. in altitude.
You can truly enjoy your horse rides for hours, spectacular views included. Take any off-road trail from there and you are in heaven…

The rural setting is private and quiet, set amongst a whole variety of different kinds of forests and meadows,
but still close enough to city life or even the InterAmerican Pacific highway to get you anywhere - if you really want to...?
There are a handful nearby American, European and Costa Rican neighbors, but none are in sight.
They are all friendly and welcome you wholeheartedly when coming by for a visit.
Otherwise, listen to the truly beautiful nature, enjoy the vistas, relax and let your soul take off.
You’ll be surrounded by the world’s most diverse local flora and fauna. White-faced or squirrel monkeys and Toucans will probably be daily visitors.
If you enjoy waterfalls, you'll be happy to know that some of the best falls in the area are just a couple of minutes down the road.
A great way to spend an enjoyable afternoon with a few friendly locals, some expats,
several helpful U.S., Canadian or EU retirees(/emigrants) or interesting tourists on any given day.
Btw: There are also weekly meetings of “Gringos” in Golfito if you are interested.
Great to get to know others and to trade tips or exchange experiences.

The ‘frontera’ of Panama is only 45 minutes away.
You will be able to acquire a few simple but hard to find items at the border and enjoy shopping on the Panamanian side,
using Dollars or Euros and finding familiar treats like peanut butter, dill pickles, or blue cheese,
and these types of odds and ends for little money that can be expensive elsewhere.
Electronics like TVs are much cheaper as well.
Gasoline prices are below those you’ll pay for in Costa Rica, so a quick trip to fill up your car is worthwhile anyways.
Border crossing in the commercial district is easy. You won’t even realize on which side of the border you are.

When looking from an investment perspective, a wise time to buy is at a time when a town is expanding from a small village as is the case for Rio Claro.
Another good example would be Uvita, like it was about some years ago, before prices skyrocketed.
Towns near Rio Claro, like Golfito, also have been a main hub of activity over the past years due to coastal interest in marinas and fishing.
But Golfito has reached a saturation point already and a further expanding of this town outward is not possible anymore due to limited vacant land.
The few lots remaining are priced accordingly.
An additional advantage of Rio Claro are two major intersections - a no-brainer for additional growth potential.
General spoken, Costa Rica is gradually expanding all over, like the United States did many years ago;
we are only still in our infancy in some areas. But everyone, including the government as well as the national and international private sector,
is very interested in progression of any kind.
Looking at the nice websites with beautiful homes and high prices, one might envision the infrastructure matches property values in Costa Rica.
But most of those homes were built by foreigners and the infrastructure is gradually being established on the local level.
Many improvements have been made already at the major hubs North to South.
There are even rumors now of another international airport to be developed in the southern zone of the country to facilitate international air travel to the south. Speculations are that it shouldn’t take too long.
All this comes at a price that’s hard to believe. This incredible offering is ‘TurnKey’ - just bring your toothbrush.
Throwing in a pickup truck (a Chevy ½ ton) for a fair price is negotiable.
